Cincinnati USA has been recognized as a top city for medium-size conventions in the “Top Convention Cities in the USA for 2017” list from MeetingSource.com.

One hundred and seventy-six convention cities were ranked according to affordability, ease of access, safety, walkability and promotional appeal. Cincinnati was among the top four cities with the highest ranking in each category for medium size conventions, and is one of the top-12 convention cities overall.

“Cincinnati USA is a world-class, top-tier destination, and the country is taking notice,” said Dan Lincoln, president and CEO of the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Recognition of this kind is a testament to the incredible growth and progress of our destination.”

On a five-star scale, Cincinnati received four stars for ease of access, safety, walkability and promotional appeal. The Queen City earned five stars for affordability. This selection factor considers total room numbers, rooms within one mile of the convention center and average room rates. Cincinnati has added nearly 600 rooms downtown since 2014, totaling almost 3,500 rooms in the convention district.

The top-12 convention cities from this year’s list have been added to a site-selector database by MeetingSource.com that features top convention centers, second tier convention cities and more.

“The list is a great place to start looking for a city suitable for a convention,” said John Horchner, author of the study. “Reviewing the list is a quick way to find the country’s top convention destinations based on five of the most important convention site selection factors.”
