Plan a romantic weekend getaway in the Cincy Region
Find fun and romance for couples on a budget in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
Cozy up in Northern Kentucky
Start your weekend on the Kentucky side of the river at Newport on the Levee where Bridgeview Box Park offers a variety of take-out cuisine options to enjoy in this open-air space complete with cozy seating areas, games, and a panoramic view of the Cincinnati skyline. After dinner, try bonding over bowling and drinks at Rotolo or play video games at Velocity Esports.
For a more mellow evening, start with dinner at Pompilio’s , then stroll across the pedestrian-only Purple People Bridge to enjoy the views.
And just down the road from the Levee, experience a guided tour of New Riff Distilling, the northernmost stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour and part of Northern Kentucky's The B-Line bourbon experience.
Catch the vibe in Cincinnati
Spend the morning exploring Eden Park in Mt. Adams. Meander around the park, take in the views of the Ohio River from the Twin Lakes overlook, then head to the Cincinnati Art Museum. The amazing collection of art contains more than 67,000 works that span 6,000 years. The museum has free admission and free parking. Plus, get in a workout by climbing the new 150-stair Art Climb.
In the afternoon, head downtown to explore Over-The-Rhine. Enjoy shopping local boutiques, grab a drink at one of OTR’s craft breweries and catch some live music in Washington Park with an incredible view of Cincinnati Music Hall.
For dinner, head to Hyde Park for innovative cuisine at E+O Kitchen. Fueled by a passion for Asian cuisine, E+O brings together elements of the earth and ocean on every plate.
If urban exploration is more your speed, head to Findlay Market for some shopping. Then enjoy a meal in the biergarten from one of the many food vendors. Afterward, set out on a self-guided tour of the Artworks Murals in the urban core.
Spend the evening at the swanky Nostalgia Wine & Jazz Lounge, enjoying live music and sipping craft cocktails.
Relax away from the city
The final day of your couple's getaway is a quiet one in the northern suburb of Loveland. Pick up some picnic supplies on the way, then head to Loveland Canoe & Kayak and they will outfit you with a canoe, paddles, and life jackets, then transport you upriver. Spend a leisurely day paddling down the scenic Little Miami River. Stop at Loveland Castle where you can tour the castle, explore the gardens, and enjoy a picnic lunch. After you return your canoe, explore charming Historic Loveland and have dinner in one of the restaurants.
