Florence
Looking for the great outdoors and affordable family fun? Florence is the place for you!
History of Florence
Florence went through several name changes, including Crossroads and Stringtown, before becoming incorporated in 1830. It is currently the second largest city in NKY based on population. A landmark of Florence is the Florence Y’all water tower, which originally was promoting the upcoming Florence Mall. Because the mall wasn’t built yet, the water tower had to be repainted. When the mall was done the locals decided they liked Florence Y’all so it stayed as is. Today Florence is a great place for family fun and enjoying the great outdoors.
