History of Bellevue and Dayton

Bellevue was formally incorporated in 1870 and Dayton in 1867. Both towns used to be known for beaches on the Ohio River that brought people from all over to enjoy swimming and recreational activities until changes to the river caused these beaches to disappear. Today Bellevue and Dayton take great pride in the small businesses that make their communities unique places to shop, eat, and live.
