Festival season is upon us! I grew up attending Cincinnati Music Festival. The city really comes alive this weekend, hosting thousands of visitors. Looking for ideas on how to make the most of your CMF weekend? As a native Cincinnati girl, I've got some ideas for you!
Find a Festival Fit at Kenwood Towne Centre
Need a last-minute outfit for the concert? Did you forget about the small bag policy at Paycor Stadium? Head to Kenwood Towne Centre to get anything you may need - or just to treat yourself to a luxury shopping trip.
At Kenwood you'll find 150+ stores, including Nordstrom's, Coach, Express, Apple, and many more. While you're there you can valet and grab a bite at one of their many restaurants and even have your car detailed while you shop!i
Ride the Streetcar
Navigating downtown during a busy festival weekend can be overwhelming, especially if you're trying to find a place to park. I recommend using The Connector Streetcar to get to the festival and many other great places downtown.
Cincinnati's modern, electric streetcar system offers 18 stops throughout the downtown core, and is totally free to use! Take one ride and easily access many of Cincinnati's landmarks, including Music Hall, Great American Ball Park, Fountain Square, the Casino, and more!
The Connector's hours of operation are:
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
- Sunday: 9:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Experience the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame
Did you know that many legendary jazz, funk, and soul artists call Cincinnati home? Celebrate and learn about Cincy's music heritage at the grand opening of the Black Music Walk of Fame during Cincinnati Music Festival weekend. Visitors will be able to sing along with some of Cincinnati’s music icons and haptic panels will let you actually feel the music through vibrations.
Grab some late-night food in Cincinnati
So you've danced the night away at the festival, enjoying the sights and vibe at Fountain Square, and now you're hungry. It's after midnight and a lot of restaurants have closed. Don't worry, there are several places downtown that stay open until well after 2 a.m. that make for the perfect late-night snack. Check out:
Lucky Dog OTR
If we're talking "Cincinnati" food - then we're talking cheese coneys. Lucky Dog OTR is a hidden gem that is open late and can satisfy just about any craving you may have. They not only serve Cincinnati chili, but a variety of other menu options such as wraps, double-deckers, salads, and more.
Catch a vibe at the Hard Rock Casino
Whether you want a late-night cocktail, some food, or to try your luck, the Hard Rock Casino has what you need. Choose from various dining options, grab a cocktail at the swanky Hard Rock Center Bar, visit the gift shop, and more. Open 24 hours a day, this is the perfect pre or post-festival stop.
