The Brewing Heritage Trail

The Brewing Heritage Trail is a project of a local non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and promoting the brewing culture and history of the Cincy Region. Take one of their multiple guided tours to hear entertaining stories of Cincinnati’s beer culture while experiencing the architecture and city streets where our craft beer history took place. There’s also a self-guided tour through the Brewing Heritage Trail downloadable map. The trail features informational kiosks and art installations along the route to inform and entertain. Built on Beer Tour - The most accessible option offered, this tour explores brewing architecture both above and below ground.

Cincinnati Brewing & Distilling Tasting Tour - Get a close up look at the distilling process at Northern Row Brewery and Distillery, then continue the tour exploring lagering cellars and pre-Prohibition brewing structures where modern methods thrive.

Over & Under The Rhine Tour - Explore historic Over-The-Rhine and visit major landmarks topside, like Findlay Market, and underground, like Cincinnati’s abandoned subway system.

Brewers & Barons Trail Tour - This tour shares the stories of the workers, brewmasters, and beer barons from the 19th and early 20th century and visits lagering cellars and tunnels of historic breweries.

Cellars & Saloons Brunch Tour - This 4 hour tour includes brunch and beer tasting at Moerlein Lager House along with brewing history above and below ground level.

Underground Tunnel Brewery District and Craft Beer Tasting - Two tours, one day. Explore a portion of the Brewing Heritage trail, then hop on the Cincy Brew Bus and visit 3 local craft breweries.

Cincy Brew Bus

To best explore the history and flavor of local craft breweries, make your reservation on the award-winning Cincy Brew Bus. A wealth of comprehensive tour options are available: Choose three- or four-stop tastings, brew hop on the streetcar, explore Butler County or the Underground Tunnels, or book your own private tour. You’ll enjoy generous samples of beer at each stop, plus be served with local history, snacks, souvenirs, and exclusive behind-the-scenes access. Tours run at select times Monday through Sunday.

American Legacy Tours will take you on a journey through Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky’s vibrant history! Designed to be both educational and fun, these walking tours will visit historic spots both above and below ground.
