Braxton Brewing Co. in Covington, Kentucky has hosted a winter block party the first Saturday of December for the past nine years to celebrate the release of their Dark Charge beers. Dark Charge is an imperial stout — which is a very rich, intensely flavorful stout with a high alcohol content — aged in bourbon barrels. But one beer is not enough! To make it better, each year Braxton releases several Dark Charge variants that appeal to a multitude of tastes. A few examples from previous years include the Dark Charge Vino, Maple Pecan, Bourbon Cream, Boston Cream and many more. The release of these tasty winter stouts was initially celebrated on Dark Charge Day, the first Saturday of December. Dark Charge Day has grown into the Dark Charge Winter Block Party and is a signature regional craft beer event drawing fans from all over. STAVE: A Night in the Dark will be returning on Friday, December 6th. Northern Kentucky’s premier beer and bourbon dinner will feature a culinary journey that celebrates the intersection of beer and bourbon through the Braxton Brewing Co.'s 2024 Dark Charge Barrel Aged Imperial Stout and O.K.I. Hand Crafted Bourbon.

This year STAVE will feature a menu expertly crafted by 10 time James Beard nominee Chef Edward Lee as a homage to The B-Line® in NKY and paired carefully with one of Braxton Brewing Company’s 2024 Dark Charge Barrel Aged Imperial Stout variants or a signature O.K.I. Cocktail to elevate the flavor profile. STAVE tickets can be purchased on Braxton's website.

10 Years of Dark Charge!

Saturday is the day to hang out with friends new and old at Braxton's Covington location, sipping tastes of all the Dark Charge variants on tap, enjoying live entertainment, and eating a variety of delicious food prepared by favorite local restaurants. Spend time indoors in Braxton's spacious brewery, outside under the heated tent, or rent a private, heated, igloo for you and up to 7 friends on Braxton's rooftop.
