Senior Sales Manager Laura Soto will lead office ahead of Convention District opening
CINCINNATI, OH (For Immediate Release) – Visit Cincy has hired Senior Sales Manager Laura Soto to lead the organization’s presence in Chicago and grow national account business for the region.
Soto will be based in Chicago, an influential meetings market and home to many national associations, corporate planners, and third-party firms that guide multi-city rotation decisions.
Soto has built her career in the Chicago market, most recently selling large groups and citywide conventions for the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, with previous sales and catering leadership roles at the Ambassador Chicago. Her experience working directly with major associations, corporations, and third-party firms positions her to connect the region with key decision-makers.
“Having a dedicated presence in Chicago supports our long-term strategy to grow national meetings business and strengthen our position in the Midwest,” said Julie Calvert, President and CEO of Visit Cincy. “In-market representation ensures Cincinnati remains top of mind as we introduce our new convention districts to planners who influence the rotation of major conventions.”
Soto’s role will connect Visit Cincy’s long-term strategy with day-to-day engagement in the Chicago market.
“Laura’s knowledge of the market and her ability to anticipate planner needs will be essential as we introduce the scale, flexibility, and new capabilities of the convention district,” said Andy Conklin, Visit Cincy Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Cincinnati’s new downtown convention district includes the fully redesigned Convention Center, a new 2-acre adjacent outdoor event space at Elm Street Plaza, and a 700-room Marriott convention headquarters hotel to come soon. Together, with the recently expanded and renovated Sharonville Convention Center, these districts increase the region’s competitiveness for meetings and events.
