CINCINNATI, OH (For Immediate Release) – Visit Cincy and Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled (LADD) are holding a special pinning ceremony for the conclusion of a transformative partnership through the Dan Lincoln Institute for Hospitality Leadership (IHL). This initiative, which began in June, focuses on equipping adults with developmental disabilities with skills essential to enter the regional hospitality industry workforce.

WHAT:              LADD Pinning Ceremony

WHEN:              Tuesday, August 20, 2024
10:00 AM (program will run about 20 minutes)

WHERE:            3603 Victory Parkway
                           Cincinnati, Ohio 45229

WHO:                Representatives from Visit Cincy, LADD, and a member of the program will be available to speak to the media.

The 12-week program, which began on June 4, provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the five key components of hospitality: Food, Lodging, Transportation, Recreation/Attractions, and Conferences/Conventions.

The ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the program’s participants, including their successful completion of the Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) certification. CTA is a nationally recognized hospitality industry certification that reinforces customer service excellence and the important role of tourism in the community.   This certification enhances each participant’s resume as they explore career opportunities in the industry.

"This partnership with LADD is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and providing meaningful opportunities for all members of our community," said Julie Calvert, President and CEO of Visit Cincy. "We are proud to see these students develop their skills and contribute to the city’s tourism landscape."

"We are honored to have partnered with Visit Cincy and IHL for this groundbreaking initiative," said Laura Grimes, LADD Supported Employment Program Director. "This program has not only equipped our participants with essential skills but also opened doors to new career opportunities in the hospitality industry."
