Excerpt from Joanne Lincoln Maly’s speech:

“I feel that, through his family, Dan would like to share just a few last words with all of you. His disease took his voice away many years before he passed away.

He would challenge you to listen and not just hear. He’d say ‘I want to encourage you to be a friend. To find love and hold on to it. Be genuine and be kind.’

And from his heart, he’d want to shout the words ‘Thank You’ for this honor and thank you for your friendship. And one last thing. I think, because he wasn’t able to do this before he left, he would like to tell all of you, ‘Good Bye.’”

Visit Cincy continues to honor Dan's legacy through the Dan Lincoln Institute for Hospitality Leadership, an initiative to increase skilled and diverse talent in the hospitality sector.
