The Cincy Region’s buzzy new Walnut Hills eatery The Aperture has landed itself on another “best of” list: USA Today’s “2025 Restaurants of the Year”.

The recognition comes hot on the heels of Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown’s semifinalist nod for “Emerging Chef” by the James Beard Awards, as well as The Aperture’s inclusion in The New York Times’ 50 best new restaurants list.

USA Today’s compilation of America’s top 45 dining destinations is a “celebration of local flavors and stories, curated by reporters from across the country,” per the outlet. As for the Aperture’s praises, the blurb reads: “chef-owner Jordan Anthony-Brown offers a mezze-style menu that demonstrates how to balance complex textures and flavors without abandoning comfort,” going on to call out specific dishes like the hamachi collar, served in a sweet orange glaze with a crab paste miso aioli and sliced serrano chilies.

The Aperture

The Aperture isn’t the only Cincy eatery making waves lately. Local, seasonal and foraged pasta spot Wildweed landed on Esquire’s best new restaurants list and is also a James Beard semifinalist. And Japanese-American café Mochiko was named one of the best bakeries in America by The New York Times
