COMMUNICATIONS SENIOR MANAGER
Summary: The Communications Senior Manager will implement innovative and effective programs and initiatives that communicate the mission, activities and progress of Visit Cincy, and generate media coverage that enhances the destination image both locally and nationally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops the annual media relations and advocacy plans in coordination with Visit Cincy's annual strategic plan.
- Leads both consumer and trade media outreach to establish awareness and increase media coverage of Cincinnati as a nationally-renowned destination, including media missions, press trip coordination and collaborating with lead generating agencies and partners.
- Prepares and issues press releases in order to maximize media exposure for organization’s achievements, to further the message of Cincinnati as a regional community leader and a top convention and visitor destination, and to reinforce the impact of tourism on the economy.
- Prepares speeches and talking points for key staff to incorporate organizational messaging in external communications.
- Provides media support and assistance to high-profile convention groups meeting in Cincinnati, while also planning and executing media outreach surrounding large conventions.
- Oversees all media reporting, including ongoing analysis of media results, identifying metrics and coordination data and providing quarterly reports to leadership accurately capture efforts from communications outreach.
- Manage and innovate the VisitCincy.com Media page, including recommendations for future improvements and continued integration with other departments.
- Partner with the marketing department to manage advertorial development and write/edit content for advertising and sales collateral.
- Support overall destination content development for Visit Cincy’s efforts to book key meetings and conventions groups, promote significant sales wins and collaborate with the marketing, sales and services departments on new projects.
- Monitor local, regional and national industry news for relevant updates on Cincinnati and its competitive set cities and aggregate and distribute summaries of news and research for overall CVB staff strategic support.
Experience and Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or Communications required; experience working with media monitoring services such Vocus/Cision and HARO preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years’ experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Experience with email marketing platforms preferred.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the office. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and edit as necessary.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate.
